It was school holidays, in the middle of June, and I was talking with some friends at our smooze time after church. The topic came up about schooling, and how many of us mums where dealing with issues at our 'Christian Schools' The fact we do not celebrate Easter, but do celebrate Passover, and Hanukah and not Christmas. One of the mothers had chosen to home school and I was really intrigued to know how it was going. Well by the end of the conversation, I made the decision, not to send my two darlings back to school!! We would home School! It was a very scary thought and I must admit I felt very over whelmed and at times wondered "What have I done"... but with all my heart it is thee most fulfilling thing I could ever do as a mother and as the world we know grows further away from the truth and way of Jesus and closer to a self obsessed worldy world, I am so SO very happy I made the decision to do it. The fact that we have a farm, including horses, milking cow, chickens, dogs and cats, as well as a sheep, makes a very interesting and wonderful world to live and learn and grow up in. It allows us as a set apart family to do our daily devotions and take as much time as we need to in the morning to focus on our Heavenly Father and Jesus and the word. HOWEVER be warned...there are days that I truly do sit and cry my heart out, it is very hard at times, the enemy does his best to destroy what I fervently try to uphold. BUT not long after, I look out and watch the animals and the sunsets a glorious gift over the hills beyond, and I breathe a sigh, It is worth it! If you are thinking about home schooling, or distant education, give it a go... you too may just love it as you see your children grow in their faith and inner beauty. And you will grow so much too!!!!
